Abuja - The House of Representatives is set to probe Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) and telecommunications providers over non-compliance with the directive to deactivate unregistered SIM cards on their networks, Vanguard reports. The House resolved to investigate the NCC on the N6.1 billion appropriated for the SIM registration exercise by the National Assembly. The House said it would also investigate allegation of allied abuses of good corporate governance by the service providers. This development was sequel to a motion moved by Oluwole Oke under matters of urgent national importance, entitled Motion for the investigation of the non-compliance of telecommunications companies with directives to deactivate unregistered Subscriber Identity Module, SIM, cards on their network.
