RIVERS West

Dr Peter Odili from Ogba Egbema Ndoni local
government area is the former governor of the
state with state-influence over the affairs of
the PDP.

Whether on ground or not, he will expected to
deliver not just his local government, but the
senatorial district in favour of the PDP
candidate, Mr Osinakachukwu Ideozu whose
emergence as candidate he was said to have
influenced.

Bro Felix Obua also from Ogba Egbema Ndoni
Local government area he is the state
chairman of the PDP and will be under
pressure to deliver all the candidates in his
local government and senatorial zone.

APC

Chibudom Nwuche from Ahoada is a former
deputy speaker of the House of
Representatives with still considerable
influence in Ahoada East/West. He lost the
PDP primaries to Ideozu and crossed over to
the APC. He would not want to suffer double
jeopardy with the emergence of his rival as
senator.

Chief G.U. Ake from Ogba Egbema Ndoni local
government area, he is a former chairman of
the state branch of the PDP with strong
tentacles in the area. He was among those
who followed Former Governor Amaechi to the
APC and he will be fighting to prove that Odili
is no longer a factor in the politics of the area
and the state.

Rivers East

The local government areas are Emohua,
Etche, Ikwerre, Obio Akpo, Ogubolo, Okrika ,
Omuma and Port Harcourt.
Sergeant Awuse from Emohua is one of the
strongest factors in the PDP in area.
Chief Glory Emeh, was chief of staff in the
Celestine Omehia administration and served as
commissioner of transport in the Odili
administration is one of those pushing the APC
agenda in Rivers East.

Chief Emeka Bekeis from Emohua local
government area is the state secretary of the
APC.

Rivers Southeast

Rivers south East has Andoni, Eleme, Gokhana,
Khana, Opobo Nkoro, Oyigbo amd Tai local
government areas.
Among those pushing for the PDP in the area
are Senator Lee
Maeba a former senator who lost in the PDP
governorship primaries.

APC

Mr. Dakuku Peterside the director general of
NIMASA and immediate past governorship
candidate of the party is leading the APC’s
fight in the area. He would be complemented
by the party chairman, Mr. Davies Ikanya who
is from Andoni local government area, Mr.
Victor Giadom, who is from Gokhana local
government area and is a former commissioner
for Works in the Amaechi administration.

Mrs Ibim Semenitari is a leader of the APC in
the state. She is currently the acting Managing
Director, Niger Delta Development
Commission, NDDC.
